tramp oil separators

Hyde Tramp Oil Separators

The Tramp Oil Separator is designed as a simple, trouble-free, economic solution for removing free floating and mechanically dispersed tramp oils from individual machine sumps, central systems, and wash tanks. Based on gravity flow and coalescence, the Tramp Oil Separator can reduce tramp oils to less than 1% in a single pass. The Tramp Oil Separator extends the productive life of soluble oil, semi-synthetic and synthetic coolants, as well as washwaters. Our Tramp-Oil Separator requires no consumable products. PRAB/Monlan backs every Tramp Oil Separator with single source product responsibility, reducing your maintenance worries.

Benefits:

Reduce new fluid purchase costs up to 75%
Reduce cost of washwater detergents, heating, and disposal
System Payback in 3 to 6 months
Reduce hazardous waste volumes by 50% to 90%
Reduce Tramp Oil to less then 1% in a single pass
Separated Tramp Oils can be sold or recycled
  Minimal Maintenance
  Automated System for Continuous Operation

Applications:

Machining and Grinding - Water Soluable, Semi-Synthetic & Synthetic Coolants
Primary Metals - Rolling & Drawing Fluids, Coolants
Washwaters - Alkalin & Acidic Washwaters, Tramp Oils
Stamping Operations - Heavily Fortified Stamping Fluids & Washwaters
Die Casting Operations - Mold Release Fluids & Washwaters
Transportation - Oily Water Vehicle Discharge
Pressure Washing - Oily Water Discharge
General Fluid Cleaning - Separation of Any Two Immiscible Fluids
Other Applications - Wastewater Pre-treatment, Marine, Cooling Water, Quench Pits

Tramp Oil Separation Process:

Contaminated fluid flows through a series of baffles and a porous media bed where free and mechanically dispersed oils are separated from the fluid.

Tthe clarified fluid flows over the effluent discharge weir back to the reservoir for reuse.

The collected oils, bacteria slime, inverted emulsions, etc., are collected at the top of the separator and automatically discharged from the Tramp Oil Separator via an adjustable weir into a suitable container.
